Looking for a high-quality, robust armour for the hands that will not blow your budget? Well, you’ve come to the right place! These beautiful plate armour gauntlets offer a great value for money.
In the late Middle Ages and Renaissance, plated gauntlets were an essential part of the suit of armour, protecting the hands and wrists both on the battlefield and during jousting tournaments.
These Gothic gauntlets are detailed replicas of late medieval plate armour gloves, combining distinctive hand protection with the characteristic design of Gothic armour. Their construction of numerous articulated metal plates, pointed cuffs and decorative details gives the gauntlets an authentic medieval appearance.
The fingers are protected by individual overlapping steel plates, allowing for articulated movement. The back of the hand and finger joints are likewise covered by carefully arranged plates. Particularly distinctive are the heart-shaped perforations and embossed ornamental lines, which add a characteristic late medieval touch to the design.
The interior consists of complete leather gloves, to which the metal armour plates are attached. This creates an authentic combination of a leather glove and articulated steel plate construction. An additional leather strap at the wrist helps secure the gauntlet in place. The large, pointed cuff extends over the wrist and forearm and creates the characteristic silhouette associated with Gothic-style plate armour.
The steel used here is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. We recommend you to maintain the plate gauntlets on a regular basis, for example using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
