The Feder, also known as a Fechtfeder, is a blunt, flexible training sword that was used in fencing schools during the Renaissance for longsword training. Its distinctive design and handling are well documented in numerous period fencing manuals. Today, the Feder remains highly popular among practitioners of historical fencing.

This updated version of Hanwei’s popular Federschwert is based on historical examples and faithfully reproduces their characteristic features. Immediately above the guard is the distinctive widened ricasso, which offers additional protection for the fingers. The flexible, blunt blade features a rolled-over tip for added safety during training.

The guard and pommel are made of steel, while the grip is tightly wrapped in brown cord for a secure and comfortable hold, even during extended use.

Specs may slightly vary from piece to piece.
