This fully wearable medieval leg harness inspired by 15th-century armour is a historically styled reproduction of articulated late-medieval plate leg protection. The set consists of a pair for both legs and combines characteristic late-medieval poleyns with articulated steel plates designed to provide protection while allowing greater freedom of movement.
The leg armour is made from 1.6 mm thick steel. The pronounced poleyns, or knee cops, form the central protective elements around the knees and give the armour its distinctive late-medieval appearance. Above and below the knees, several articulated steel plates protect the legs while allowing the wearer to move more naturally than with rigid, one-piece leg protection.
With its straightforward polished-steel appearance, this 15th-century medieval leg armour can be combined with a wide range of other plate armour components. It is particularly suitable for medieval reenactment, Living History, LARP, historical costumes, medieval fairs, theatre and film productions. It also makes an impressive addition to a complete knight’s armour or medieval collection.

The steel used here is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. We recommend you to maintain plate armour on a regular basis, for example using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
