Roman Pugio Frog, Belt Fitting, Vindonissa Pattern, Brass, Set of 2
This Roman dagger frog (suspension mount) is based on finds from the castrum (legionary camp) of Vindonissa – now Windisch, Switzerland. Dated to the first half of the 1st century A.D., the original artefacts belonged to a Roman legionary’s cingulum or balteus.
This reproduction of a Roman belt fitting is cast from 2 mm thick brass. As the hinged chape has no holes, mounting it to a belt will require drilling.
Such brass frogs are perfectly suited for your own DIY Roman belt project or as replacement/spare parts. Mounting hardware is not included in delivery.
An ideal accessory for Roman re-enactment.
These fine belt fittings are sold in pairs.
